THERMAL INSULATION FOR THE MRATINJE DAM IN MONTENEGRO BY ENING
There are no secrets or unknowns for ENING in the fields of the company’s core operating activities.
Thanks to a constant coordination, detailed planning and logistics and highly qualified professionals, ENING succeeded in installing the thermal insulation in the Mratinie Dam in Montenegro thanks to the K-FLEX AL CLAD product.
The purpose was to prevent condensation on the cooling pipelines with an high performance product with jacketing for an extra mechanical protection. The insulation project included:
- 300m pipe network for cooling the generator turbine, diameter from Ø38mm to Ø406mm. The total area of insulation is about 150m2 + fittings;
- Valves and assembly-disassembly pieces on the pipelines;
- All accompanying flange connections, T-pieces and Reductions.
The Mratinje Dam is a concrete arch dam in the canyon of the Piva River in Montenegro, it was completed in 1975 with designs by Energoprojekt. With is 220 metres of high, it is one of the highest dams in Europe.
